FAQs

We’re always happy to answer any questions via phone or email, but the FAQs might be just what you’re looking for.

Will I have help planning my event?

Yes of course! Our planners are the most organised people we know and love getting into the finer details. They’ll be on hand to guide you through the planning process every step of the way, working closely with the event team at Kalm Kitchen to ensure everything — including the menu — comes together beautifully.

What is the guest area on your website?

Our Guest Area is a handy planning tool featuring lots of key information about the house and grounds. Need some measurements? Look no further. You’ll need a password to access the area, which will be sent to you after your event booking is confirmed.

Do you have a list of recommended suppliers?

We have a carefully chosen list of florists, calligraphers, photographers, bakers and more who share our sense of style and ethos.

What is your maximum capacity?

We can host up to 150 guests for dining or seated events, and up to 200 guests for evening celebrations or standing receptions.

Do you have minimum guest numbers?

Our minimum numbers are based on your adult daytime guests and vary depending on the day of the week and the month. Minimum numbers start from 50 guests.

Do you have an outdoor area for civil ceremonies?

Yes, our arbour is a licensed ceremony space which fulfils the Registration Office requirements, and outdoor ceremonies can take place between April and September, weather permitting.

Can we use confetti?

Definitely. We just ask that you use dried flower petals.

Can we use fireworks or sparklers?

Sadly we don’t allow fireworks or sparklers.

Do you have bedrooms?

We do. There are nine bedrooms, including the Cabin and the Lodge, reserved exclusively for your wedding party on the night of your celebration.

Can we invite extra guests just for the evening?

Of course, you’re welcome to invite evening guests – our total capacity is 200.

Do you have disabled access?

Yes, there’s easy access from the car park to the main house and suitable facilities inside. Please note the bedrooms, the Loft and the Lodge aren’t accessible.

Is there a space where I can get ready before my event?

The Loft has a hair-washing station, hairdryers and styling tools. It’s ideally suited for hair stylists and make-up artists, and there’s enough room for groups too. Additionally we have the Lodge, next to the main house, which has a dressing area upstairs.

Can we decorate the beams in the halls?

Yes – we just ask that you use one of our recommended suppliers.

How do I choose my menu and drinks?

You’ll work with our team and Kalm Kitchen to create a menu that feels right for you. You’ll also be invited to one of our tasting evenings so you can try a selection of dishes and drinks.

Do you cater for children?

Yes. We offer a three-course children’s menu or half portions of the adult meal at half price for weddings. For little ones aged six and under, we can provide party boxes.

Can we provisionally book a wedding date?

We’re happy to hold a date for up to five days without requiring a deposit after you’ve visited the house.

What payment is required to secure a date?

A non-refundable payment of £3,500 confirms your booking and secures your date. This goes towards the venue hire, catering and drinks.
